Looking for an SEO company to help your business grow?

Our team of experienced SEO professionals will help you climb to the top of Google, so you can generate more leads and sales today.

No secret sauce.
Just better leads for your business.

Here’s what else is in it for you.

A content first approach

Make it purposeful. Attract, convert, and delight with intent-based messaging.

Words matter, but context is key. Unlike most SEO agencies we take a proactive approach to strategizing content. By prioritizing user intent, we can fill content gaps and opportunities faster, build your online authority, and connect more users with relevant information to their search queries—resulting in higher rankings and conversion rates for your website.

Everything we do for you is out in the open. You’ll receive detailed reports every month in language that lets you know how your budget is being used and how well it’s working. You shouldn’t have to know how to do SEO yourself to be able to decipher your SEO company’s work on your behalf.

Complete visibility.

It’s your money. You should always know where it’s going.

Our best, hands-on work every day.

Set it and forget? Not on our watch.

Automated SEO tools have their role (we use them ourselves), but they shouldn’t be relied on to run your SEO from start to finish. If your current SEO agency isn’t frequently digging around the inner workings of your SEO campaigns, you’re not only missing opportunities for better results—you’re paying for programs instead of expertise.

Data points are just numbers until they’re in the hands of people who can mine them for insights into your customers, marketplace and competition. This is where we really shine—analyzing the subtle fluctuations that tell a bigger story, then fine-tuning your campaigns to get bigger results.

We Know Our Stuff and Others Agree.

Keyword
Research

Everything we do begins with data and that’s especially true with keyword research. We do more than find the best search patterns that people enter into the search engines in your target area—we also identify the best keywords that show intent to buy. We review your competition for these keywords and target the sweet spot between keywords with enough traffic and the least amount of competition to make the quickest impact on your business.

Competitive
Analysis

SEO doesn’t happen in a vacuum: Your competitors are investing in SEO, too. We break down your top online competitors to determine the source of their online authority, which pieces of their content are driving the most traffic, and what types of content that they have and you don’t. We also track their rankings right along with yours to see how you compare.

SEO
Optimization

We use the data our extensive keyword research yields to optimize your website content, ensuring the right keywords are used prominently throughout. We don’t believe in keyword stuffing or keyword ratios—instead, we create great copy that incorporates your main keywords and synonyms so that it reads well and provides SEO signals to the search engines. We focus on optimizing your URLs, title tags, meta descriptions, H1 to H6 heading tags, image alt text, and bolded text. We look for ways to naturally place your keyword phrases in these important spots to improve the relevancy of your content to search engines and users.

Content
Strategy

No SEO campaign is complete without a robust content strategy, and ours isn’t limited to blog posts like most SEO companies. Although keyword research is the starting point of a good content strategy, it doesn’t end there. We review the type of content that ranks highest and analyze the content features that contribute to rankings, such as the word count of the top page. We look for numbered lists, how-to guides, videos, checklists or a comprehensive FAQ section, all of which are the components that go into quality content. We identify what Google is already ranking to understand what we need to build to overtake the #1 spot. We then upgrade all of the content that is linked in your navigation to make sure we have sufficient word counts to rank well. We then focus on the long-form content that Google prefers to rank higher than service or product pages.

Link
Building

Links back to your website are still one of the most important search engine ranking signals. It’s also a practice that has been abused by SEO companies and caused penalties to be incurred in the past. Currently, Google is favoring devaluing links over penalizing, so following a natural link building process is key to avoid wasting your budget. Our link building approach is based on solid content marketing strategies. We use your newly created long-form content as the basis for our link building outreach campaigns. We reach out to relevant and authoritative websites in your industry or a closely related field to write relative content citing your long-form content as a resource with a link back to the article. This is a completely natural form of link building that’s labor intensive but yields a small number of valuable links that can bring both traffic and links at a sustainable pace month to month.

Reporting
Transparency

We hear too often from prospective clients that they never know what their SEO agency is doing for them. At DAGMAR, we provide you with simple yet thorough SEO reports each month. We don’t just report on metrics but also break down the metrics that are most important to you, such as keyword rankings, traffic increases, and leads generated. Even though SEO starts with keyword rankings, the number that matters most is the number of leads generated. We configure your reporting to make sure we’re tracking the various ways a lead is generated from your website so you know exactly how your SEO campaign is performing month-over-month and year-over-year. Even though SEO can be a technical exercise, your reports don’t have to be. We give you a narrative with each section that explains in plain language you can understand. Have reporting questions? Great—we have answers so let’s get on a call to discuss them. Need a custom report made? No problem—we love diving deep and finding that nugget of data you’re looking for.

These success stories could be yours.

Common SEO FAQs

Common SEO FAQs

We get a lot of questions about all the moving parts in SEO. If you don’t see an answer to your question here, let us know!

Why should I invest in SEO?

Search engine optimization (SEO) is essential for increasing the visibility of your website. Depending on your industry, there may be dozens or even hundreds of other companies’ websites that appear ahead of yours when people search for businesses like yours. SEO is the most effective digital marketing technique for positioning your website higher in search results than your competitors. Your investment in SEO can be the deciding factor for a prospective customer who’s seeking the products or services you offer.

How much does SEO cost?

The simple answer is SEO costs whatever you’re willing to spend. But if there was ever a good example of “you get what you pay for,” this is it. You can buy a bare-bones, low-priced package that may get you some short-term gains, but search engines won’t reward you for long. SEO is clearly a marathon—lasting results are built day by day, month by month. An inexpensive SEO package probably won’t include the level of attention and maintenance that sustained results demand, so you may get little (or, in the long run, nothing) for your money.

High-quality SEO involves a range of strategies and tactics, most of which require repeated deep dives and continual hands-on work. In addition, the initial up-front work your SEO company will do may include a lot of time spent on eliminating negative SEO factors, correcting problems on your website that interfere with good rankings, and in-depth research on your target audience and your competitors.

The good news? With the right SEO company on your side, your investment in SEO can provide great returns in the form of more (and better qualified) leads for your business. You can learn more about DAGMAR Marketing’s pricing here.

How soon will I see results from an SEO campaign?

A less-than-reputable SEO company or consultant will tell you that your site will rise to the top of rankings quickly, but nothing could be further from the truth. SEO is a mature marketing discipline, and through the years it’s come very clear that a few initial gains may take at least three months, while additional sustainable gains will take much longer. As more relevant content is created and added to your site and authoritative links back to your site are developed, your results will continue to improve.

When is the best time to implement SEO?

For an existing website, the sooner, the better. Because it takes significant time to build a high-quality SEO campaign, a delay in getting started is a delay in getting results.

If, however, you are about to create or launch a brand-new or redesigned website, the best time to implement SEO is prior to launch. Building in features and structure that supports good SEO results is a great investment that can give your new site a head start.

Why do my website’s search engine rankings fluctuate?

There will always be a lot of moving parts that determine rankings. These include your own dynamic SEO campaigns, the SEO work your competitors are doing, and the nearly constant changes that search engines make to how they ultimately determine rankings. That said, it’s normal to see relatively minor fluctuations over time. If, however, you experience a sudden extreme change in your site’s rankings, there’s a definite reason behind it, which an experienced SEO company can uncover.

What is “white hat” SEO and “black hat” SEO?

Playing off the old western movie tropes of good guys in white hats and bad guys in black hats, the meaning in the context of SEO is basically the same. White hat SEO is all about adhering to best practices and search engine rules to achieve legitimate rankings. Black hat SEO is focused on gaming the system and bending the rules. While both can get you results, it always goes back to the long journey of building quality content and relevant links to achieve sustainable results, which only white hat SEO can do.

Here’s another important distinction: Black hat SEO never works well for long, because it’s designed to take advantage of whatever backdoors or loopholes exist at the moment, and those always change. (It Because it’s built on solid marketing principles, white hat SEO is much less vulnerable to the frequent changes made by search engines, so you don’t have to worry about reacting to every little tweak Google makes.

What is “on-page SEO” and “off-page SEO”?

Also known as onsite and offsite SEO, these two parts of SEO function separately but work together. On-page SEO is everything we do on or to your website, such as adding relevant content and optimizing your site’s structure and URL structure. Off-page SEO takes advantage of other authoritative or reputable web content to support your own site’s authority, which is done by identifying and developing links back to your site. It also includes optimizing your company’s listings in various business directories across the web.

What’s the difference between SEO, SEM and PPC?

Search engine optimization (SEO) is used to improve how high a website organically or naturally ranks on a search engine results page. Search engine marketing (SEM), which includes specific tactics such as pay-per-click advertising and social media marketing, is also referred to as paid search.

What factors affect SEO results?

There are many factors that affect SEO results, but the important ones to focus on for ranking well on Google are content quantity and quality, mobile-friendliness, backlinks, relevance, domain authority, and page speed. As you might guess, each of these require its own particular expertise, so when you’re shopping for an SEO company, you’ll want to learn as much as you can about its capabilities in each of these areas.

What is the first step to creating content for SEO?

Keyword research can make or break a content strategy. Since it is the first step to developing SEO-friendly content, it is also one of the most important elements to your company’s success in search engines.

Keyword research is the process of finding terms or queries that your target audience enters into search engines when seeking products or services like yours.

Crafting online content with these queries in mind enables your website to become easily discoverable by users and search engines. It can place your website higher in search engines, and/or feature it in Google’s People Also Ask section

What is link building?

When determining rankings, search engines rely in part on the number and quality of the links your site includes internally and those that it has linking back to it externally. There are several types of links, including natural links, which comes from other sites that choose to link to yours, and manual links, which are gained by actively pursuing links from reputable sites back to yours.

Link building is a bit of both art and science, and the best practitioners understand the value of link building to attracting targeted, qualified leads to your site.

Do Google penalties really matter to SEO?

When a prospective client tells us they’ve just experienced a severe drop in rankings, one of the first things we do is attempt to identify penalties or algorithm updates, such as Penguin, that may have been assessed due to having violated Google’s guidelines. Even if every other aspect of your SEO campaigns is in line, some low-quality links or keyword stuffing can trigger a rank-tanking penalty.

If you’ve been notified that your site is being penalized, or even suspect it, our penalty recovery services can help.

What criteria should I use to select an SEO company in Jacksonville?

Digital marketing comprises several strategies, but SEO is its heart, so it’s important to do your legwork to determine which SEO companies are most likely to help you achieve your marketing and business goals. Google provides some guidance for this, which includes asking these and other questions:

  • Can you share examples of your work and success stories?
  • Do you adhere to Google’s guidelines?
  • How do you measure success?
  • What experience do you have in my particular industry or a comparable one?
  • How long have you been in business?
  • Will you provide detailed information about your recommendations and strategies?

Google also offers these warnings:

  • Be wary of an SEO company that guarantees a first-spot ranking on Google (no one can guarantee it).
  • Avoid an SEO company that seems deceptive or gives vague answers to your questions.
  • Be sure you clearly understand how your budget will be used.

Questions to ask an SEO agency.

Questions to ask an SEO agency.

Whether you’re just starting to consider adding SEO to your marketing mix or have worked with an SEO agency in the past, it’s worthwhile to be prepared with questions to ask potential providers before you trust them with your investment.

Who will I be working with on a day-to-day basis?

If your choice comes down to a couple of agencies that are equal in most other respects, the answer to this question could be the deciding factor. Your relationship with your SEO company’s point person is an important factor in the ultimate success of your campaign, because you need someone who will be available, responsive, knowledgeable, and easy to work with. If you’re looking at large agencies, there’s a chance your account will be handed over to a lower-level person who will save her agency money, but may not be the best choice to manage yours. Be sure you get a clear answer to this question and, if possible, ask to meet or have a call with the person you may be working with.

How often will I hear from you?

An SEO provider should have an established process for communicating with all of its clients. At the very least, you should expect to receive monthly reports on how your SEO campaigns are performing. Walk away from anyone who indicates you won’t hear from them unless something isn’t going right, because their process is probably very opaque. SEO is an investment; you should always know what kind of returns you’re getting.

What SEO services will you provide?

Transparency is important here, because digital marketing, and especially SEO can contain a number of different disciplines, strategies, and tactics. A comprehensive strategy yields the best results, so you’ll want to know how an SEO company plans to provide services in these areas:

  • Technical SEO: This is focused on the technology on your website that search engines look at, including 404 pages, your site’s navigation, how your data is structured, your HTTPS configuration, and more. It should also include an initial audit of your site to unearth hidden problems. This article from Search Engine Land will give you a good idea of what technical SEO can entail.
  • On-page SEO: This includes optimizing all of your content and your HTML source code to improve organic traffic and rankings by increasing the relevancy of your web pages to search queries.
  • Off-page SEO: In essence, off-page (or offsite) SEO is based on the concept of word of mouth. It helps search engines see what the rest of the web “thinks” about your website by communicating your site’s (or company’s) authority, relevance, and reputation. If, for example, the content on one of your web page is cited by others, the search engine sees that as validation that you’re valuable to people searching for what you offer.

What other digital marketing services can you provide?

Digital marketing—sometimes referred to as internet marketing or online marketing— has SEO at its core, but the term can include anything that drives sales or promotes your company, or that supports SEO. It may include content writing, local SEO (an SEO discipline of its own), social media, paid search, website design and development, conversion rate optimization (CRO) and more. Some SEO companies do it all, while others focus only on national SEO. Whether you need a full-service digital marketing agency, a sole SEO practitioner, or an SEO consultant for a brief engagement will depend on your business goals, needs, and budget.

What’s your approach to link building?

Developing backlinks to your site from external sites that Google deems trustworthy and authoritative is an essential part of off-page SEO. As Moz puts it, backlinks are valuable because they “represent a ‘vote of confidence’ from one site to another.”

Link building is one of the most challenging and time-consuming SEO tasks. A prospective SEO partner shouldn’t downplay either its importance or its possible impact on your budget over time. The only kind of links that can be had easily, quickly or cheaply are not the kind you want, because they are probably being bought or automated, which is in violation of Google’s guidelines on link schemes.

How do you keep up with the constantly changing ways Google ranks websites?

Simply put, Google wants to give users the most valuable search results from the billions of pages on the web and it wants to do that better every day. This can mean making very frequent minor changes to how it ranks websites or springing the occasional game-changer on us. A competent SEO company will advise you that reacting to every small tweak isn’t necessary and ignoring the big changes may result in missed opportunities. At Dagmar Marketing, our digital marketing agency strategies are to stay focused on SEO and marketing fundamentals and best practices for our clients, which keeps them ahead of most of Google’s day-to-day changes. We know from experience which changes should be responded to in order to improve or maintain good rankings, and we closely monitor and research the search engines’ activity on ranking factors.

My customers are local; do you do local SEO?

If your customers are in your geographic area, local SEO is critical. It’s very different from broader SEO that can rank you against every similar business online. Ask potential SEO providers what their local SEO services include and what their strategies would be for your particular type of business.

Do you work with any of my competitors?

An SEO company that has one of your direct competitors as a client will have to choose which one of you should win the rankings race and which one should lose. Unless the lines of competition aren’t so distinct—let’s say you’re an attorney handling only divorce cases while the law firm down the street wants to attract only class-action lawsuit clients—you’ll want an SEO provider with no conflicts of interest.

How will your work align with my other marketing strategies?

SEO works best when it’s in sync with and capitalizes on your other marketing strategies. Ask potential SEO partners how they plan to leverage the content and messaging that’s on your social media channels, in your public relations initiatives, and in your advertising.

How will I know how well my campaigns are performing?

Not only should you ask SEO providers what metrics they use to measure success; they should also ask you what your goals are for the work they’ll do. Keep in mind that one of digital marketing’s greatest advantages is that everything can be measured, so you should never be in the dark about campaign performance.

Ask the provider if they prepare reports, how they prepare them, how often they share them with you, and what those reports will contain. Also ask to see a sample of the reports you’ll receive. Some SEO companies use an automated set-it-and-forget-it approach to reporting, which can leave some big gaps in your understanding. These are probably not companies you want in charge of spending your money.

How long will it be before I see better rankings?

This is the acid test, because experienced SEO companies will tell you there’s no single right answer. Others may make promises they either can’t keep or will use questionable tactics to keep.

SEO work is done in phases. The first phase focuses on technical SEO and on-site optimization, and correcting any issues that are found. Some results from this initial phase may be seen in three or four months. Subsequent, ongoing work focuses on building fresh, relevant content and link development, which will have results that build over a long period of time. In any case, much depends on the state your website is in at the time SEO work begins, so everyone’s mileage may vary.

How much does SEO cost?
We’re glad you asked!

If there was ever a solid example of “you get what you pay for,” SEO is it. SEO services can be cheap or they can get you great results, but not both. High-performing SEO can be a significant investment, but your ROI can be significant, too.

The question of cost can’t be answered until we’ve invested some hours in researching your market, keywords, website and competition. We then create an estimate that’s geared toward your needs rather than our services. Everything that comes after that is further customized, including what we do for you each month.

Even with that customization, we do have some common price ranges that can help you determine if we’re likely to be a good fit for you.
